#GIVINGTUESDAYNOW Giving Tuesday, a global day of fundraising, has been moved up to May 5, to give those that “can”, a chance to help local nonprofits that help those who “can’t”. Bennington has several local nonprofits that help those in need in our community, including the Bennington Public Schools Foundation, the Bennington Chamber of Commerce and local churches.
If you are able, we ask that you consider donating on May 5 to a Bennington nonprofit or check out Share Omaha to see profiles on 421 nonprofits in the Omaha metro who undoubtedly need support during this time! Many of these important Omaha metro organizations are struggling because of cancelled fundraising events and are striving to continue crucial programs that assist the most vulnerable in our communities.
The federal coronavirus relief bill even made a provision allowing taxpayers to nab a $300 deduction for charitable giving for 2020 without itemizing. (This is not tax advice, please contact your tax advisor for specific tax advice). So, please give . . . if you can! It is needed now more than ever.
