Stratford Elementary sought out a way to tailor its music program to the diverse needs of its students, fostering a sense of inclusion and empowerment.
Through the Foundation’s Project/One-time Funding program, they were able to acquire adaptive instruments, effectively creating an inclusive and accessible music education environment for ALL of its students.
“We believe that every student, regardless of their abilities, should have the opportunity to experience the joy of making music,” said Jordan Stryker, Stratford Music Teacher, “Our music program was facing challenges in accommodating students with varying abilities. Traditional instruments may not be suitable for all students, limiting their participation in music activities. And as the community continues to grow, the number of students that need this adaptive technology in music also continues to grow.”
By contributing these reusable items, the Foundation has effectively removed this barrier while providing an enriching musical experience for every student that attends Stratford Elementary now and in the future.
“We are so thankful for the Foundation to buy these for our students at Stratford,” said Stryker, “We are having so much fun with them, and watching students participate in music in ways they haven't before has been so rewarding!”
