What do I do if my child will be absent in the afternoon?
Please call your site director if your child will not be attending the afternoon program. This enables staff to account for each child. You may leave a voicemail or text message on the site phone as the messages are checked daily.
Can I register my child if he/she is not 5 years of age?
All Star Kids currently operates under at “School Age License” for all site locations. In order to be eligible to enroll into the All Star Kids program, all children must be currently enrolled in the Bennington Public Schools system and be of “School Age”. “School Age” begins on your child’s first day of Kindergarten through their last day of Sixth Grade. Due to this restriction, all incoming Kindergartners will not be eligible to attend our summer program until after they have completed Kindergarten.
Do I need to sign my child in/out?
An authorized person must sign each child in and out every day. Any person on your authorized pickup list must present photo identification to sign your child out. Please call ahead and let your site director know if someone other than the child’s parent/guardian will be picking your child up. Parents are not allowed to call the site and request that their child walk home. Our policies are designed to keep your children safe. Thank you for your cooperation.
Do I need to sign up for care on consolidation days (when school is out)?
Yes, you must pre-register for consolidation days; sign-up sheets will be available at site approximately two weeks before a consolidation day. The location of the consolidation day will be posted at your site. Space is limited.
Do I need to fill out the Tuition Express form if I plan to use the same account as the prior year?
No, there is an option on the Payment Agreement for each program to designate that you wish to use your same account information as the previous year. If you would like to update your account information, please circle the “no” option on your Payment Agreement and submit a new Tuition Express form along with a voided check.
Do I need to submit a copy of my child’s immunization records each year?
No, currently enrolled and returning families do not need to provide a copy of their child’s immunization records on an annual basis. Only new families and incoming Kindergarteners will need to provide copies of their child(ren)’s immunization records. Reminder: we are separate from the school district therefore this information must be provided to our program, as well.
Does All Star Kids provide snow day care?
If school is cancelled due to weather conditions, All Star Kids will also be closed.
Will All Star Kids provide lunch for my child on consolidation days and during summer program?
No, All Star Kids will only provide a breakfast meal and a morning and afternoon snack for your child. A sack lunch and drink will need to be provided on consolidation days and during the summer program.
Where does my child go when there is early dismissal from school? Is there an extra charge for my child to attend All Star Kids on these days?
Your child will report to All Star Kids the same way they would on a normal day of school. All Star Kids will be open at the time school releases until 6:00pm, at no extra charge.
What happens if my child doesn’t get in because the program is full?
If there are more applicants than available spaces, a waitlist will be created. If your child is placed on this waitlist, you will be contacted as soon as a space becomes available in our program.
