Student & Family Resources

Stacks of colorful books.

We help ensure students’ basic needs are met in order for them to fully concentrate on and strive for academic success.

From providing essentials support to scholarships, we offer a spectrum of resources for students:

  • All Star Kids provides families with quality, reliable child care with the convenience of an in-school location at a competitive child care price during regular school days, non-school days and summer break. For more information on how to register your student, contact All Star Kids Program Director Lance Sindelar at LSindelar@bennps.org.

  • We offer merit-based scholarships for graduating seniors and connect them with local community organization scholarships to aid them in their pursuit of post-secondary education. The online application process is simple and streamlined, enabling seniors to apply for 30+ Foundation and Community funded scholarships with one form.
    23/24 application will open December 1, 2023.

  • Four days a week, the Foundation pays teachers to assist students before and after school with academics. Students can be assigned to it or drop in if they need extra help. Student academic achievement is impacted by over 700 hours each year at the middle and high school level.

  • Provides students with the support and encouragement needed to graduate and to pursue post-secondary education or career opportunities. It focuses on the strengths of our Mentees, encouraging them to become the best version of themselves. This program provides safe, school-based mentoring for any student grades 3-12 and currently serves 86 students in Bennington.

If your student would like to be matched with their very own mentor, contact TeamMates Coordinator Megan Detjens at MDetjens@bennps.org.

  • Assists students in meeting immediate and basic needs, to ensure their physical, social and emotional needs do not stand in the way of their success in school. This program helps fill these needs when unmet by any other source. Previous funding examples include: clothing, appropriate winter gear, eyeglasses, food, gas gift cards, graduation cap/gown.

Important to Note: Applications for expenditure of student needs funds may be requested ONLY by District principals and guidance counselors. If your family or one you know is experiencing financial hardships and a student is in need, please notify your school principal or guidance counselor.
